My first potential song choice is 'Spend my money' by Plan B. I thought this would be a good song to make a video to because the narrative is really clear and it isn't your predictable love story either. I also thought that we could make use of quite alot of strong imagery aswell. For example, a load of notes could be thrown around and this shot could be repeated every chorus perhaps, and also could have the shot going backwards or slowed down which I thought could be quite interesting. The feel of this song is quite 1950's I think, and when i listen to it I picture a man dressed in a suit, performing in an old bar, smoking an drinking.
My second song choice is Rizzle Kick's cover of 'When I'm bigger', which features the chorus of one of The Stroke's songs. I thought this would be good to do because its very upbeat and uplifting, and most people, and most of the videos from previous years we've been shown, tend to be either with a song that has quite a depressing tone/mood and I want to steer clear of that. Again, like with 'Spend my money', it isn't a love song either so I think its quite fresh and would be unique to try and make a video to go with it.
My final song choice is 'Hounds of love' by The Futureheads. When I listen to this song I picture a young boy singing this song, like with 'Blue Blood' by Foals, where a young boy roughly aged 13 is performing the song. I like this idea as not many bands/artists have videos like this, and I think it keeps you engaged throughout the entire song. Another song that does this is The Black Key's 'Tighten up'. I think the video would be quite uplifting, and 'arty' looking, with lots of short shots to build up a fast pace throughout.
